CHATTOGRAM, July 20, 2025 (BSS) – A team of Bangladesh Coast Guard (CG) today seized illegal foreign liquor worth about Taka 40 lakh from Patenga, Chattogram.

Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq said based on secret information a coast guard ship Apurba Bangla conducted a special raid in sea adjacent to Patenga Sea Beach at 10:30 pm on Saturday.

During the raid, 60 bottles of VAT 69 whiskey, 48 bottles of Valentine whiskey and 36 bottles of Red Label whiskey worth about Taka 40 lakh were seized in abandoned condition from there, he said.

Siam-ul-Haq, however, said none was arrested as the drug smugglers fled the scene after sensing the presence of the coast guards.

He said that Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue such operations in future to maintain the law and order situation in the country.

Legal process was underway against the seized foreign liquors.
