HSC examinee dies of Snakebite in Magura

Magura, July 28, 2025 (BSS) - An HSC examinee has tragically died from snakebite in Srikantapur village under Magura Sadar upazila last night.

The victim was identified as Shawon Sikder, 19, son of Badsha Sikder of the village.

According to his cousin Zahir Sikder, the incident occurred around 8:00 PM on Sunday (July 27) near his residence. Shawon was initially treated by a traditional healer (Ojha) in an attempt to extract the venom. As his condition deteriorated, he was taken to the 250-bed Magura General Hospital at around 11:30 PM, where the attending doctor declared him dead.

Magura Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ayub Ali told BSS that the body was handed over to the family after completing legal formalities.
