COVID-19: One new case reported in 24 hrs

DHAKA, July 28, 2025 (BSS) - The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today confirmed one new COVID-19 infection across the country in the 24 hours ending at 8 am today.

A total of 107 samples were tested during this period, yielding a positivity rate of 0.93 percent, according to a statement from the DGHS.

However, no deaths from COVID-19 were reported during this time, while 28 deaths from COVID-19 infections have been reported so far this year.

The cumulative death toll since the pandemic began in 2020 stands at 29,527.

The first case of coronavirus in the country was detected on March 8, 2020. Ten days later, on March 18 of the same year, the first death from the virus was reported.
