Manikganj, July 31, 2025 (BSS) - Crests and certificates were awarded to 34 outstanding students from as many educational institutions in Shibalaya Upazila under the "Performance Based Grant for Secondary Institutions (PBGSI)" scheme, implemented by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Education.
A ceremony was held at the Shibalaya Upazila Parishad auditorium, organized by the Manikganj District and Shibalaya Upazila Education Offices.
Mahbuba Yasmin, Deputy Director of the "Strengthening Reading Habits and Skills among Secondary Students" program (Dhaka Region), attended as the chief guest.
The event was presided over by Shibalaya Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Zakir Hossain and featured speeches from District Education Officer Md. Amir Hossain, Upazila Academic Supervisor Md. Rashed Al Mamun, Principal of Sadar Uddin College, ANM Bazlur Rashid, Headmaster of Barangail Gopal Chandra High School Md. Lutfar Rahman, and Managing Committee President of Rupsha Wazed Ali High School Abdus Sattar. Student representative Md. Rimon Sheikh also spoke.
Each SSC or equivalent student (2022-2023 sessions) received Tk 10,000, while each HSC or equivalent student received Tk 25,000 in recognition of their academic excellence.
