Boy dies from electrocution in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Aug 15, 2025 (BSS) - A boy died from electrocution at Majhipara village under Lakhsmipur union of Sadar upazila in the district this morning. 

The victim was identified as Ananda kumar, son of Kazal Kumar of the village. He is also a student of seven grader of Local Lengabazar High School. 

Family and local sources said there is a poultry farm owned by a man Tara Miah in the village. Every night, a number of foxes used to come to the farm to eat eggs of the chicken, So he set up an electric trap around the farm to deter the foxes. 

On Friday morning, the victim found eggs lying on the ground adjacent to the farm while he was walking alone. In that time Ananda tried to raise the eggs and accidentally came in contact with a live wire used for electric trap and electrocuted. 

Later, he was rushed to hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead.
