Begum Khaleda Zia's 81st birth anniv celebrated countrywide

DHAKA, Aug 15, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia stepped into 81st year today. Her birth anniversary was celebrated in jubilations across the country.

To mark the day, special prayers were offered at mosques and BNP offices across the country.

On the occasion, BNP held a milad and dua mahfil at its central office before Jummah prayers.

Special meals (tabarak) were distributed at Majumdar Bari in Fulgazi upazila of Feni at her ancestral home. Khaleda Zia's younger brother Zahid Hossain Majumder arranged the function.

In Sripur upazila of Gazipur, BNP leaders held dua mahfil and distributed clothes among destitute people.

Gopalganj district BNP and all its associate organisations hosted a milad mahfil at the party office in the morning.

Khulna metropolitan unit of BNP held special prayers at the KD Ghosh party office in the city at 11:00am.

Such programs for Begum Khaleda Zia were held in Kurigram, Mymensingh, Rangamati, Joypurhat, Sonargaou, Bogura, Faridpur and in other districts and upazilas.
 
BNP's student wing Jatioatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) also celebrated the birth anniversary of Begum Khaleda Zia by offering special prayers seeking her good health at the central mosque of Dhaka University.
