CHATTOGRAM, Aug 15, 2025 (BSS)- The 81st birth anniversary of Begum Khaleda Zia, a pioneer of democracy and the unwavering leader of the country, was celebrated here today in a befitting manner.
Chattogram city, north and south district units of BNP, along with different political parties and socio-cultural organizations organized special prayers, doa mahfir, milad mahfil, food distribution, and other programs on the day.
Chattogram city unit of BNP held a doa mahfil at its city office after Juma Prayers today. Special prayers were offered seeking Khaleda Zia's good health and long life.
City BNP Secretary Nazimur Rahman, Central Sramik Dal leader M.A. Najim Uddin, former City BNP Secretary Abul Hashem Bakkar, Central Executive Committee member Alhaj Samshul Alam, Joint Convener M.A. Aziz, senior BNP leader Advocate Abdus Sattar, S.M. Saiful Alam, Kazi Belal Uddin, Harun Jamman, R.U. Chowdhury Shahin, Shaokat Azam Khaja, Ahmedul Alam Russell, Shihab Uddin Mobin along with senior leaders of City BNP were present on the occasion.
BNP leaders highlighted Khaleda Zia's political leadership, sacrifice, and struggle for more than four decades for democracy.
They described Khaleda Zia as the symbol of Bangladesh's democratic movement saying the country witnessed real progress during her three terms as Prime Minister.
The BNP leaders praised her resilience in fighting against authoritarian rule and enduring a lot of sufferings out of imprisonment, injustice and physical torture.
Chattogram's north and south district units of BNP also organized separate doa mahfil, special prayers, khatma quran and discussion on the occasion.
Different units of BNP at upazila and district level held separate doa mahfil and discussions on Khaleda Zia's birthday.
