MANIKGANJ, Aug 16, 2025 (BSS) - A team of District Special Branch (DSB) of Police arrested six leaders and activists of the Awami League (activities banned) in different areas of the district during a day-long operation on Friday.

Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, Inspector of DSB, confirmed the arrest last night.

The detainees are Mahmudul Hasan Juel, personal assistant of former lawmaker Momotaj Begum of Manikganj-2, Md Ratan Khan, 43, of Boikunthapur village under Ghior upazila, Md Al Amin, 32, of Pashchim Seota village of Manikganj Pourashava, Md Alibordi of Chegar Ghona under Manikganj Sadar upazila, Jasim Uddin of Shimulia under Shibalaya upazila and Moshiur Rahman of Kolia village under Daulatpur upazila. 

The arrestees were later produced before the court, the DSB inspector added.
