KHULNA, July 31, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) have arrested two impersonators posing as police personnel along with a walkie-talkie set and a pair of handcuffs from the city's Gagon Babu Road area.

The arrestees were identified as Shahed Hossain, 33, son of Iqbal Hossain of Gagon Babu Road, and Jony Chowdhury, 41, son of late Tayeb Ali of Wireless Cross Road, Navygate in Khalishpur area of the city.

Acting on a tip-off, members of KMP's Detective Branch (DB) conducted an operation in the area on Wednesday afternoon and arrested the duo.

A walkie-talkie set and a stainless-steel pair of handcuffs were seized from their possession, said Khondokar Ahsan Ahmad, assistant commissioner (media) of KMP, in a press release issued today.

A case has been filed with Khulna Sadar police station.
