RANGPUR, July 31, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued a kidnapped teenage girl, a resident of Lalmonirhat, and arrested the main accused from the Chowrasta area under Bason Police Station in Gazipur. 
 
The arrested kidnapper is Md Ashikur Rahman, 20, son of Mohammad Sirajul Haque of Khengti village under Patgram Police Station of Lalmonirhat district, said a press release issued here today. 
 
On a tip off, a joint team of the RAB-13 and RAB-1's Gazipur Camp conducted a raid in the Chowrasta area under Bason Police Station of Gazipur, arrested the main accused and rescued the victim at 5:45 pm on Wednesday.

The elite force has handed over the arrested accused and rescued victim girl to Patgram Police Station in Lalmonirhat.

Earlier, the arrested person along with his accomplices kidnapped the girl from the Sreerampur area on June 14 while she was returning from private tuition.
 
Later, the victim's father filed a case with Patgram Police Station on July 20.
