Former Rangpur city councillor Fulu arrested

RANGPUR, Aug 1, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested former councillor of Ward 13 of Rangpur City Corporation and Awami League leader Fazle Elahi Fulu, in several cases of attempted murder and attacks on the participants of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. 
 
"We arrested Fazle Elahi Fulu from the Kachari Bazar area of Rangpur metropolis on Thursday night," Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali police station of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Md Ataur Rahman told BSS this afternoon.
 
He was previously the Vice-president of Ward 13 Committee of the Rangpur Metropolitan Awami League. 
 
Fazle Elahi Fulu went into hiding after the Awami League regime fell in the student-public uprising on August 5 last year. 
 
“We produced Fulu before the Rangpur Metropolitan Magistrate Court from where he was sent to jail this afternoon," the OC added.
