SHARIATPUR, Aug 3, 2025 (BSS) - Two motorcycle riders were killed when a bus hit their bike on the slope of the Padma Bridge at the Jajira end of the district last night.

One of the deceased was identified as Mohammad Ali Antu, son of Md Golam Kibria of Hemayetpur area in Savar. The identity of the other deceased could not be known immediately.

The accident occurred in the Naodoba area around 11 pm when a bus hit the motorcycle from behind, leaving its two riders dead on the spot, said Md Naqib Akram, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Padma Bridge South Police Station.

Police recovered the bodies. Legal proceedings are underway, the OC added.
