MEHERPUR, Aug 3, 2025 (BSS) - A farmer died after being electrocuted at Bhatpara village in Gangni upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was Shawkat Ali, 50, son of the late Faratullah Kazi of the same village.

He came in contact with a live electric wire while he was starting a water pump at his farmland around 11 am. He died on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gangni Police Station Bani Israel confirmed the matter.
