BNP forms committee to review constituency boundary demarcation

DHAKA, Aug 3, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP has formed a committee to review and coordinate activities related to the boundary demarcation of parliamentary constituencies.

The five-member committee will be headed by party standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan as its convener, according to a press release issued by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

The other members of the committee are: Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, former acting secretary of the Election Commission Md Zakaria, former deputy secretary Shamsul Alam and BNP executive committee member Belayet Hossain Mridha.

The committee has been tasked with reviewing the proposed boundary adjustments and ensuring the party's stance is reflected in the delimitation process.

The move comes amid ongoing discussions about constituency reconfiguration ahead of the next general election.
