DHAKA, Aug 3, 2025 (BSS) -Leaders and activists from across the country gathered in Dhaka's Shahbagh area, braving rain, this afternoon to mark the anniversary of the historic July Uprising as the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student wing of BNP, held a mass rally.

The event formally commenced after 3pm with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the national anthem. A large stage was erected at Shahbagh Chattar, facing the TSC (Teacher-Student Centre) on Dhaka University premises, where leaders of the Chhatra Dal central committee took their places.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, currently residing in London, joined the rally virtually as the chief guest. 

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir attended the programme as the special guest. 

Several senior central leaders of the BNP also joined the event.

Chhatra Dal Central President Rakibul Islam is presiding over the event while its General Secretary Nasir Uddin moderating.
