"School students' awareness can effectively prevent road accidents"

RANGPUR, Aug 11, 2025 (BSS) - Highway Police Rangpur Region Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Tariqul Islam has said that school students' awareness would play an effective role in preventing road accidents on the highways. 
 
"The Highway Police hopes that raising awareness among school students will play an effective role in preventing road accidents in the future," he said.
 
He viewed this today at an awareness workshop on road accident prevention with school students held at Shothibari Multilateral High School adjacent to the highway under Barodorga Highway Police Station of Rangpur region as the main discussant. 
 
Presided over by the Headmaster of Shothibari High School, Shree Harendranath Saha, more than 350 students, teachers, Officer-in-Charge of Barodorga Highway Police Station Md Omar Faruk participated in the workshop.

In the workshop, Highway Police SP Mohammad Tariqul Islam delivered a 
PowerPoint presentation on the causes of road accidents, traffic rules, 
social and economic impact of road accidents and what students can do to prevent accidents. 

The discussion was very lively as the students actively participated in this event with great attention amidst the scorching heat. 

Highway Police SP also answered several questions asked by the students on various issues related to road and highway accidents.

"The Highway Police has started a public awareness program in important 
educational institutions under its Rangpur Region with the target of making the school level students aware to reduce and prevent road accidents," he said.
