KMP to take measures to celebrate peaceful Janmashtami

KHULNA, Aug 11, 2025 (BSS)- Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Haider said that adequate security measures will be taken to maintain law and order in Khulna city to hold Janmastami on August 16 next.

“Alongside uniformed police, plainclothes personnel will be deployed,” he said while presiding over a discussion meeting here today on overall security and law-and-order arrangements for the upcoming Janmashtami celebrations of the Hindu community.

He said sufficient number of traffic police personnel will be deployed to reduce traffic congestion during the Janmashtami procession.

For security reasons, visitors will be discouraged entering the temples with bags or bundles. Separate entry and exit routes for men and women will be arranged in every puja mondop, he said.

He instructed all not to play any musical instrument during the time of Azan and prayers of Muslim. He also urged all to refrain from uploading any posts or photos on social media that may disrupt communal harmony, spread rumors, misinformation, or instigate communal tension during Janmashtami.

Senior police officials and leaders of the Khulna City Puja Udjapon Parishad were present.
