One held with 40 kg hemp in Lalmonirhat

LALMONIRHAT, Aug 14, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested an alleged drug peddler with 40 kg of hemp from Kulaghat check post of the district last night.

The arrested was Md. Ismail Hossain, 37, a resident of Muradipur village under Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur district.

On information, a BGB team intercepted a private car at Kalughat Check Post around 9.30 pm last night and arrested Ismail and recovered 40 kg of hemp after searching a private car, a BGB-15 press release said this morning.

The arrested accused and the seized hemp have been handed over to Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station for further legal action.
