DHAKA, Aug 13, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has asked sub-inspectors (SIs) working in Dhaka Metropolitan Police to perform their duties with professionalism, transparency, and impartiality.

"Perform duties with professionalism, transparency, and impartiality," he said.

He made the remarks at a briefing held at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh on Wednesday.

Addressing the sub-inspectors present, the DMP Commissioner said, "You are the backbone of the police force. The reputation of Bangladesh Police depends on your work. Your role in direct communication with the public and providing them with services is very important."

Highlighting the importance of investigation, he said, "Investigation is complex but essential. Therefore, more should be done to improve the quality of investigations."

He also noted, "When robberies rise, people feel insecure, so effective preventive measures are needed."

The DMP chief instructed SIs to be prepared for the upcoming national elections and said they must perform their responsibilities in the elections with honesty and impartiality.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Admin) Faruk Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.

Of the 2,344 SIs in DMP, 444 attended this second-phase briefing. Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali will provide similar briefings to all sub-inspectors in phases to further improve police service quality for city residents.
