DHAKA, Aug 14, 2025 (BSS)- The government, in the third phase, has given approval to 91 new agencies to take part in the hajj pilgrimage programme next year.
Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) has issued a notification on Wednesday in this regard which said the hajj agencies were initially qualified for hajj programme under condition, a prelease of the ministry today said.
The notification said administrative action will be taken against the concerned agencies which would not register the hajj pilgrims of 2026 without any valid reason.
Hajj agencies should have written agreement with the hajj pilgrims on the services to be provided to the hajis in Mecca and Medina.
On July 27 last the government published the names of 155 hajj agencies in the first phase and 234 hajj agencies in the second phase on August 10.
Every hajj agencies would be permitted to send a specific number of hajj pilgrims to be ascertained by the Saudi government, and every hajj agencies must appoint an experienced Arabic speaking guide for every 46 hajj pilgrims.
In no circumstances an unregistered person will be allowed for performing hajj. Any unscrupulous attempt by any agency would face legal action including cancelation of the license without showing any cause.
The notification said, permission of a hajj agency would also be cancelled without showing any cause if it gets any punishment on any allegation or suffers from required qualification in dealing with the hajj pilgrims.
The qualified agencies must renew their license by September next year, otherwise their names will be dropped from the list.
Every hajj agencies should sign contact with the Hajj Director after submitting the updated hajj license, travel license, trade license and income tax certificate.
The holy hajj will be held in the last week of May in 2026 subject to sighting of the Moon.
Like this year, a total of 127,198 pilgrims will be allowed to perform hajj next year from Bangladesh.
