Launch service suspended in Bhola

BHOLA, Aug 14, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has suspended launch services on 20 internal routes since the last three days due to inclement weather. 

 The passengers in the coastal regions in the district are facing trouble for their movement on water ways, BIWTA officials told BSS.   

The Bhola meteorological department has recorded 41 millimeters (mm) rainfall in the district for the last 24 hours.

According to local office of Bangladesh Meteorological Department,  41 millimeters (mm) rainfalls were recorded during the past 24 hours.  Due to heavy rainfall during the past couple of days in Bhola district, meteorologists of the Met Office said, launch movement have remained suspended. 

BIWTA Official Riad Hossain said launch movement on waterways in Bhola district will be allowed when weather condition becomes normal.
