Two arrested with 5,100 yaba pills at Cox's Bazar Airport

COX'S BAZAR, Aug 17, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 5,100 pieces of yaba tablets from Cox's Bazar Airport here today.

The arrestees were identified as Zakir Hossain, 26, of Madaripur district, and Tanvir Ahmed, 30, of Barishal district.

They were arrested during a security check at the airport around 10:15 am, said Cox's Bazar Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ilias Khan.

Quoting airport authorities, the OC said the duo was scheduled to board a flight from Cox's Bazar to Dhaka.

A case was filed with Cox's Bazar Sadar Police Station in this connection.
