DHAKA, Aug 17, 2025 (BSS)- Youth World Cup-winning captain Akbar Ali has recently completed Level-2 coaching under the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

While his coaching course surprised many given that he is still playing cricket, Akbar clarified through his social media post that he completed the coaching course basically to improve his game.

Posting a picture of the Level-2 certificate, Akbar wrote, "I always wanted to do this since I was very young. Because I believe it will help me grow as a player and as a person."

"I am grateful for the cooperation of BCB and ECB to complete this course."

The National Cricket League T20 season will start next month. Before that, the cricketers will undergo fitness tests. Akbar, who has played 22 first-class, 92 List 'A' and 68 T20 matches, will return home soon to play in this tournament.

While most of his Under-19 colleagues had made it way to the national team, Akbar is yet to be called up in the national team, largely due to his inconsistent performance.
