The incident took place at Changer Bridge in Kanchannagar Union, where Mahin, a seventh-grade student, died on the spot. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder.

According to police, prior to Mahin's death, the same group of youths had also severely beaten three other teenagers from the area. The victims, Rahat and Manik, residents of the same village, were among those attacked.

OC Nur Ahmed of Fatikchhari Thana confirmed that the teenagers were accused of theft by the local youths. "The victims were falsely accused and brutally assaulted," he said.

Mahin and his friends had recently returned from Cox's Bazar and were sitting on the Changer Bridge around 5 am when the attack occurred.

The victim's friends are currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.

OC Nur Ahmed added that there is no evidence linking the teenagers to any criminal activity, and they were wrongly targeted. The motive behind the attack is under investigation, including whether any prior enmity existed between the victims and the perpetrators.
