14 OMS dealers appointed through lottery in Naogaon

NAOGAON, Aug 25, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 14 dealers were appointed for Open Market Sale (OMS) at Atria upazila of the district through lottery at the upazila parishad meeting room this morning.
 
The lottery was held with the direct participation of 43 applicants who applied for the dealership from eight unions of the upazila. The upazila administration arranged the open lottery for appointing dealers to ensure transparency and accountability.
 
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rakibul Hasan presided over the function.
 
He said there is no scope for irregularities in the appointment of dealers.

Through this appointment, the food security of the poor and low income people of the area would be ensured, the UNO added.
 
Upazila Food Controller Shamsunnahar, Agricultural Extension Officer Golam Rabbani, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Sheikh Abdullah Al Mamun, Social Service Officer Sohel Rana and other local dignitaries were present.
 
The appointed dealers will sell per kilogram (KG) rice at a cost of Taka 30 and wheat at Taka 24 (Per kg).
