2 held with 16-kg ganja in Lalmonirhat

RANGPUR, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two alleged drug traders with 16 kg of ganja from village Jelpara under Kaliganj police station of Lalmonirhat district on Monday night.

The detainees were identified as Shree Sujan Chandra, 39, son of Bijen Chandra Barman, resident of Harbani Nagar village and Md Liton Mia, 37, son of late Abdur Rashid Pramanik, resident of Sevak Das village under Kaliganj police station of Lalmonirhat.

Based on information, an operational team of RAB-13's crime prevention specialised company from Rangpur conducted a drive, seized the smuggled ganja and arrested the two drug peddlers from the spot at 10:25 pm, a press release said today.
 
The elite force handed over the arrested persons with seized ganja to Kaliganj police station today, the release added.
