GAIBANDHA, AUG 27, 2025 (BSS)-A bicycle rider was killed in a road accident in Shapmara union parishad area under Shapmara union of Gobindaganj upazila in the district this noon. 

The victim was identified as Samsul Islam, 56, son of Abu Bakar Siddique of Shapmara village under the union. 

Police said Bicyclist Samsul Islam was carrying a child to Kamdia bazar from Khamarpara upazila this noon. When he reached Shapmara union parishad area, the child suddenly jumped off the bicycle, resulting Samsul Islam to lose control. He was crushed under the wheels of a rice-laden truck and died on the spot.
