PIROJPUR, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) - A health care corner for pregnant mothers and adolescents was inaugurated in Bhandaria upazila of the district today. 

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashraful Alam Khan formally inaugurated the health corner at a function at Vitabaria Model Union Health and Family Planning Center this morning.

After inauguration, in his speech, the deputy commissioner said that normal childbirth should be encouraged to reduce maternal and child mortality rates. Along with this, this corner will play an important role in ensuring proper health and counseling services for adolescents. 

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rehena Akhter presided over the program.

Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ujjal Halder, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Bornali Debnath, Upazila Family Planning Officer Dr. Artist Halder, Upazila Youth Development Officer Abul Hasan, Upazila BNP Joint General Secretary Dolowar Hossain Biplob, local public representatives and health workers were present.

Later, Deputy Commissioner Ashraful Alam planted a mango tree sapling in front of the Health and Family Planning Center.
