36 elephant attack victims get compensations in Sherpur

SHERPUR, Sept 5, 2025 (BSS) - 36 victims of wild elephant attacks in Nalitabari upazila here in the district today received cheques worth Tk 673,000 under the Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Act. 

Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation Officer Sumon Sarkar, Madhutila Range Officer Md Dewan Ali, Rangtia Range Officer Md Abdul Karim, Somashchura Beat Officer Md Kawsar Hossain, wildlife rights activist Kanchan Marak, and Poragaon Union BNP President Md Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury, among others, were present at the programme.
