CHANDPUR, Sept 7, 2025 (BSS) - An elderly man was killed and three others were injured in a road accident at Dashani Beribadh area under Matlab Uttar upazila of the district last night.

The deceased was identified as Borhan Uddin, 70, a resident of Mohanpur village under the upazila.

The accident occurred around 10:30 pm when a speeding motorcycle hit the elderly man after its rider lost control of the bike, leaving four people injured, said Rabiul Haque, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Matlab Uttar Police Station.

The injured were taken to the upazila health complex where Borhan Uddin succumbed to his injuries.

Later, critically injured motorcycle rider Ishan, 19, was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
