KHULNA, Oct 13, 2025 (BSS) - Police in a drive arrested a woman with eight kilogram of venison from Guchcha village under Koira upazila of the district today. The arrested woman is Shahina Khatun, 22. 

On a tip-off, a team of police conducted a raid at the village and arrested Shahina with the venison, a press release signed by the Additional 
Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operations) of Khulna District Police said.

Shahina with the help of other associates illegally hunts deer from the Sundarbans and smuggles its meat to different places. 

A case has been filed with Koira Police Station under the Forest Act, 1927 and the Wildlife (Conservation and Protection) Act, 2012 in this incident.
