MEHERPUR, Sept 7, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested a man with counterfeit notes of Tk 42,000 from Bhatpara Housing area in Gangni upazila of the district last night.
 
The arrestee was identified as Amirul Islam Khokon, 44, son of Nizamuddin of Shishir Para village in Gangni municipality. 
 
On information, a RAB team conducted a drive in the area and arrested Khokon with the fake notes from his house, said Lieutenant Wahiduzzaman, company commander of RAB-12.
 
Khokon is involved in counterfeit currency business for a long time, he said. 
 
In this connection, a case has been filed with Gangni Police Station.

Gangni Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bani Israel said RAB members arrested Khokon with fake currency notes and handed him over to the police station for further legal action.
