3 main accused held in Khabir, Almash murder cases in Shariatpur

SHARIATPUR, Sept 7, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion in separate drives arrested three main accused of Khabir Sarder and Almash Sarder murder cases from Gazipur and Shariatpur districts.
 
On information, a joint team of the RAB-8, 1 and 12 conducted separate drives in Gazipur and Shariatpur districts last night and arrested them. 
 
The main accused in the Khabir Sardar murder case, Delwar Hossain Gagan, 60, and Kamal Sardar, 39, were arrested from the Bholartek area of Tongi West Police Station in Gazipur last night, said RAB-8 commander Mir Monir Hossain.
 
On the other hand, the main accused in the Almach Sardar murder case, Md. Danesh Sardar, 59, was arrested from Alurbazar Ferry Ghat area of Sakhipur Police Station in Shariatpur last night, he added.
 
The arrested have been handed over to Jajira Police Station. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jajira Police Station Mainul Islam said that necessary legal action will be taken in these connections.
 
According to the case reports, on August 26 last, around 9 pm, Khabir Sardar was killed in Umraddi Madbar Kandi area of Jajira over a previous enmity. 
 
The deceased's brother Danesh Sardar filed a case against 20-25 people, naming 18 people.
 
On the other hand, on August 26, around 8.30 pm, Almash Sardar was killed in the Umar Uddin Madbar Kandi area.
 
Later, police recovered the body on August 28, 2025 from a pond. 
 
The victim's sister Lipi Begum filed a case against 25 people.
 
Considering the importance of the case, law enforcers conducted different drives with the help of information technology and arrested them.
 
Commander of RAB-8 Mir Monir Hossain said legal action is in process against the arrested accused.
