Accused in Cox's Bazar murder case arrested in Patuakhali

PATUAKHALI, Sept 8, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion in a drive arrested an accused in a murder case of Ramu Police Station in Cox's Bazar, from Nabinpur village under Kalapara upazila of the district last night. 

The arrested was identified as Md. Ibrahim, 20, son of Md Yunus, a resident of Ultakhali area of Cox's Bazar Sadar upazila.

On August 2, 2025, auto-rickshaw driver Sohel, 17, son of CNG driver Riaz Uddin of Ramu upazila left his house and didn't return. The next morning, his body was recovered from a drain in Ultakhali village of Rashidnagar Union of the upazila.

The victim's father filed a murder case with Ramu Police Station on August 4. 

The accused Ibrahim was absconding since the incident. After his arrest, he was handed over to Mahipur Police Station for legal proceedings.
