Snakebite kills college student in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH, Oct 13, 2025 (BSS) - A college student died from snakebite at Ausiya village under Shailkupa upazila of the district last night.

The deceased was identified as Hridoy Hossain, 18, son of Milton Biswas, a resident of the village and a second-year student of Jhenaidah Polytechnic Institute.

A poisonous snake bit Hridoy at night when he was sleeping in his house.

Later, he was taken to Shailkupa Upazila Health Complex. When his physical condition deteriorated there, the doctor on duty referred him to Kushtia General Hospital where he died on Monday morning.

Officer-in-Charge of Shailkupa Police Station Masum Khan confirmed the matter.
