Smuggled goods worth Tk 3cr seized in Cumilla

CUMILLA, Oct 13, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have seized a huge quantity of Indian sarees worth over Taka 3 crore from Shashidal border area of Cumilla's Brahmanpara upazila. 

On a tip-off, a BGB team of Sultanpur BGB-60 Battalion conducted a drive around 5:30 am and seized the Indian sarees worth about Taka 3 crore from a pickup van, said Sultanpur Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md. Ziaur Rahman.

He said BGB's activities have been intensified to curb smuggling in the border area. The seized goods will be handed over to the concerned customs authorities for further legal action.
