Two held with 20-kg ganja in Cumilla

CUMILLA, Oct 6, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in a drive, arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 20 kilograms of ganja from Durgapur area under Cumilla Adarsh Sadar upazila today.

The arrested were Shanto Islam, 32, son of late Nasir Mallik of Golmaiz village under Naria Police Station in Shariatpur district and Khokon Mia, 45, son of late Ashraf Mia of Sharifpur village in Cumilla Kotwali Model Police Station.

On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the area this morning and recovered the ganja after searching a CNG-run auto- rickshaw and arrested two people in this connection, said Major Sadman Ibne Alam, company commander of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11.

A case was filed in this connection.
