12 hackers arrested in Lalpur

NATORE, Oct 9, 2025 (BSS) - Joint forces today arrested 12 hackers in Lalpur upazila and seized 20 mobile phones that were reportedly used in cyber forgery.

According to police, the arrestees had long been involved in online financial fraud and forgery through popular messaging apps Imo and WhatsApp.

The detained individuals are: Nazmul Hassan Ashik Malitha, son of Altab Malitha; Wabaidur Ali, son of Shahjahan Ali, Md Ekhlas Mondal, son of Azgar Mondal, Md Razu Ahmed, son of Md Taslim Ali, Maruf Hassan, son of Abdul Malek, Ariful Islam, son of Mosabbar Hossain, Rasel Ahmed, son of Fazlur Rahman, Rubel Sardar, son of Jotu Sardar, Md Sohag Ali, son of Bablu Sarkar, Moon Ahmed, son of Shariful Islam; Tutul Ali, son of Nazir Pramanik, and 
Ahmed Ali Sabbir, son of Jamrul Khandar.

Police said all 12 suspects were handed over to local authorities following their arrest.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Detective Branch (DB) of Natore district police, Habibullah Habib, told reporters that legal action has been initiated against the accused under the Cyber Security Act.
