Toddler drowns in Patuakhali

PATUAKHALI, Oct 15, 2025 (BSS) - A three-year-old boy drowned in a pond at Bilbilas Bazar under Baufal upazila of the district today.

The deceased was Arif Hossain, son of Sohag Hossain Howlader, a resident of Bulu Gazi house of the area.

According to his father, Arif had been playing in the courtyard in the morning. When family members could not find him after a while, they began searching and later discovered him floating in a nearby pond.

The child was immediately rescued and taken to Baufal Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Baufal Police Station Atiqul Islam confirmed the matter.
