World Food Day 2025 celebrated at CVASU

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - 'World Food Day 2025' was celebrated at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) today through a series of colourful programmes.

This year's theme was 'Hand in Hand, Towards Good Food and a Better Future'.

To mark the occasion, the Faculty of Food Science and Technology of CVASU organized various events including a colourful procession, cake-cutting ceremony, food exhibition, e-poster competition, award distribution, and a discussion meeting.

The day's programmes began with a vibrant procession on the university campus at 9:30 am, led by CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman. Teachers, officials, students, and employees of the university participated in the rally.

Following the procession, a cake-cutting ceremony was held in front of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology building. Later, a food exhibition was organized in front of the CVASU Auditorium.

At 11:00 am, a discussion meeting and an e-poster competition on 'World Food Day' were held at the CVASU Auditorium.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman attended the function as the chief guest, while Professor Dr. Ferdousi Akhtar, Dean of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, presided over the event.

Among others, Professor Dr. Sheikh Ahmad Al Nahid, Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries; Professor Gautam Kumar Debnath, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; Md. Ruhul Amin, Director of Banga Flavor and Fragrance (Pvt.) Limited; and Anselm L. Martin, Head of Business Development, were present as special guests.

At the end of the programme, certificates and prizes were distributed among the winners of the 'Healthy Meal for a Better Future' and e-poster competitions.
