College teacher killed in Lalmonirhat road accident

LALMONIRHAT, Oct 17, 2025 (BSS) - A college teacher was killed and another person injured in a road accident in the Mostafibazar area of Sadar upazila in the district on Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Mannan Sabu, 45, a lecturer at Lalmonirhat Adarsh College and son of Anwar Hossain of Saptibari Khatapara village under Aditmari upazila.

The accident occurred when a truck hit a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, leaving Sabu, who was riding the bike, dead on the spot and the pillion rider injured, said Md Nurunnabi, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station.

The injured person was taken to a local hospital for treatment, he added.

Preparations are underway to take legal action in connection with the incident, the OC said.
