BGB seizes smuggled Indian goods in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, Oct 17, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained one 
person and recovered a large quantity of Indian goods, including drugs, 
during a special drive conducted in different border areas of Satkhira 
district on Friday.

According to BGB sources, the seized items include 10.8 kilograms of Indian 
cannabis, 500 pieces of Katagra tablets, and other contraband drugs.

The drives were carried out in various border areas under Kakdanga, 
Kushkhali, Hijaldi, Bhomra, Chanduria, Sultanpur, Madra, and Baikari border 
outposts (BoPs) of Satkhira Sadar and Kalaroa upazilas.

Acting on a tip-off, a BGB team from Kakdanga BoP recovered 10 kilograms of 
Indian cannabis and 500 Katagra tablets from the Kutibari, Bhadiali, 
Gerakhali, and Keragachi areas. Another team from Kushkhali BoP recovered 800 
grams of Indian cannabis and detained one person from Shikri intersection 
under Satkhira Sadar Thana.

The recovered Indian goods have been handed over to the Satkhira Customs 
Office, said Lt. Colonel M. Ashraful Huq, Commanding Officer of the 33 BGB 
Battalion.
