Husband arrested for killing wife in Mirsarai

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 17, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested a man today for allegedly killing his wife during a family dispute at Moghadia village in Mirsarai upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Reena Akhter, 29, daughter of Abu Taher of Bherakhola village under Brahmanpara police station in Cumilla district. She was found dead at her residence.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirsarai Police Station Atiqur Rahman said the body was recovered and sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Police said injury marks were found on different parts of the victim's body, adding that the actual cause of death will be known after receiving the autopsy report.

Alamgir Hossain, 30, husband of the deceased, has been arrested in this connection, and legal proceedings are underway.
