KHULNA, Oct 22, 2025 (BSS) - Speakers at a meeting on Tuesday stressed forming a central disaster management committee and holding regular coordination meetings involving all stakeholders.

The call came during a discussion on the "Climate-Resilient Khulna City (Three-C)" project, jointly implemented by the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) and Khulna City Corporation (KCC), held at the GIZ auditorium in the KCC building.

Acting CEO of KCC Sharif Asif Rahman attended as chief guest, while Executive Magistrate Kohinur Jahan presided over the session.

The project will initially include building shaded structures at key city points, a temporary waste facility for Ward-21, and improving drainage and roads in Wards 21 and 22.

Sharif Asif Rahman assured full KCC support and suggested forming ward-level committees to identify local risks and guide central planning.

Senior KCC officials and BDRCS representatives were present at the meeting.
