COX'S BAZAR, Oct 23, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Animal Welfare Association (BAWA) today distributed balanced feed and provided medical treatment to sick horses at various locations along Kolatoli sea beach in the district.

Following the directive of BNP Acting Chairman and Chief Patron of BAWA Tarique Rahman, the association extended support to hungry animals, including horses, in the area.

Atiqur Rahman Rumen, BAWA Chief Coordinator and a member of the BNP Media Cell, led the programme.

A veterinary medical team, comprising Dr. Atiqur Rahman Mithu (Curator, National Zoo), Dr. Sakhawat Hossain (Livestock Extension Officer), and Dr. Mahbubur Rahman (Veterinary Surgeon), provided treatment to approximately 50 sick horses in Cox's Bazar.

Moreover, the organization will continue providing treatment and balanced feed to abandoned and sick horses in Cox's Bazar tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday (October 24 and 25, 2025), with an expert veterinary team participating in the effort.

BAWA has been consistently working for animal welfare. Following a series of initiatives such as rescuing injured animals, providing medical treatment, distributing food, and implementing rabies vaccination programmes, the organization has now undertaken special activities in Saint Martin's Island and Cox's Bazar.
