CHATTOGRAM, October 24, 2025 (BSS) - Divisional Commissioner Md Ziauddin has urged the media to help raise awareness about the side effects of the typhoid vaccine and to prevent related rumors.
He emphasized the importance of active media involvement in informing the public and ensuring the success of the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) campaign.
He made these remarks as the chief guest during a media event this morning at the Chattogram Circuit House Conference Hall. The National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMCO) organized the event to promote mass awareness about vaccination through media engagement as part of the Typhoid Vaccination Campaign 2025.
Dr Ziauddin announced that the government is offering free typhoid vaccinations to children aged 9 months to 15 years through the Typhoid Vaccination Campaign 2025. Additionally, others can also avail themselves of the vaccine at a reduced cost. In Chattogram, 9.7 million children have been included in the vaccination drive, with 4.4 million already vaccinated.
