Fire at garments in Kalshi under control

DHAKA, Oct 24, 2025 (BSS) - A fire that broke out in a readymade garments (RMG) factory at Kalshi in Mirpur in the capital was brought under control. 

 
Seven fire fighting units brought the fire under control around 12:05am today (Saturday) with around two hours of intense efforts, media officer Anwarul Islam of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) told BSS. 
 
The fire erupted in the garments factory housed at the sixth floor of Bibahbari Community Center building at Kalshi in Mirpur-11 around 10:12pm today, he said.
 
The cause behind the fire and the extent of damage could not be ascertained immediately, he said.
 
No casualties have so far been reported, he added.
