CHATTOGRAM, Oct 24, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a fugitive accused in a 16-year-old child rape case at Dobashi Bazar under Anwara Police Station last night.
The arrested individual is Md Gias Uddin, 40, son of Abdus Salam, residing in Gahira Haria Para under Anwara upazila of the district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force raided the Dobashi Bazar area and arrested Gias Uddin.
Earlier, a case was filed against him with EPZ Police Station under Section 9(1) of the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act, 2000 (Amendment-2020).
He was later handed over to the concerned police station following legal procedures, sources added.
