Three establishments fined in Rangamati for violating consumer rights

RANGAMATI, Oct 24, 2025 (BSS) -The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) has fined three restaurants and establishments in Rangamati town's Doel Chattar area for violating consumer rights.

The drive was carried out this afternoon, led by the Rangamati district office of the DNCRP. 

Deputy Director Mohammad Faiz Ullah, Assistant Director Rana Dev Nath and Mahmuda Akter conducted the operation, with assistance from Rangamati Kotwali Police Station and the local administration. 

Rana Dev Nath told BSS that the three restaurants were fined a total of Tk 21,000 for various consumer rights violations.

Among them, Annapurna Restaurant was fined Taka 6,000, Ayojon Restaurant Taka 8,000, and Gausul Azam Al Salam Hotel Taka 7,000. 

The establishments were also warned against serving stale and unhygienic food in the future.
