KURIGRAM, Oct 25, 2025 (BSS) – A teenager, Masud Rana, 17, was killed after being hit by a train at Kendra area on the Rajarhat-Kurigram railway track this morning.

The deceased Masud Rana was the son of Dr Monaim Khan Monnaf of Pir Mamud village in Chakirpasha Union of Rajarhat Upazila.

Locals said Masud Rana, along with his friend Nirab, boarded the roof of the train while returning from Kurigram to Rajarhat, reportedly under the influence of alcohol. At Kendra area, he suddenly jumped from the roof and was struck by the train wheels. He killed on the spot.

Being informed, police of Rajarhat Thana reached the spot, recovered the body with the help of locals, and informed the Railway Police.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajarhat Police Station Nazmul Alam confirmed the incident and said, “The Railway Police has been informed about the accident and is taking necessary measures for investigation.”
